San Juan Summer – 36×24 Oil. The third painting in my San Juan Mountains themed series, inspired from a trail run from Silverton to Ouray. Mount Sneffels rests in the distance; the steep bowl of Stony Mountain hides Yankee Boy Basin from view as Governor Basin unfolds from Virginius Pass. Only accessible by foot and rarely traveled this pass offers a unique view of the depth of the San Juan Mountains.
