Preferment – 36×24 Oil. I am revisiting my cycling themed series with a second series. This painting draws inspiration from the wonder that is a rear derailleur, simple in form but complex in operation. The constant drive for a higher position or rank is personified, always searching for the perfect gear, for the moment when a flawless shift will propel us to the next position or goal.
