Red Mountain Morning – 40×30 Oil

Red Mountain Morning – 40×30 Oil. The second painting in my San Juan Mountains themed series, this painting was inspired from an adventure run this summer. Red Mountain rests high above Ironton Park on a cool morning from Bridge of Heaven. I’ve been up and down these mountains since I was a kid. In this high, unforgiving, and rugged terrain there is something that still feels comfortable, like finally coming home from a long trip.

Hardrock – 40×30 Oil

Hardrock – 40×30 Oil. The first painting in my San Juan Mountains themed series, this painting was inspired from a long run on the Hardrock course. High above Island Lake on Grant Pass the majestic landscape unfolds below and in the distance. While I only spent a short time on the pass, the singular feeling and imagery are still burned in to my memory.
